Welcome! I’m Michael.
I’m a former evangelical who left evangelicalism for universal love. I coach people through difficult faith shifts so they can rebuild a healthy spirituality, whether that entails still following Jesus, is post-Christian, or something else. I can help you heal from toxic religion and find and embrace what you decide matters most.
What is non-religious spiritual direction?
It’s not anti-religious. It’s anti-religious-harm. Non-religious spirituality is a paradigm on faith that doesn’t have to include religious dogma, church, or traditional notions of prayer and worship. Non-religious spiritual direction is me helping you find your own spiritual path during or after deconstructing evangelicalism or some other high-control religious system.
Would you benefit from my coaching and spiritual direction services?
If you resonate with the following, I can help. You…
Feel like a spiritual refugee and need a safe non-judgmental haven to share your story.
Are questioning conservative Christianity and need help deconstructing it and rebuilding a revitalized faith or philosophy of life.
Were traumatized by rigid religious teachings or practices and need to heal from things like hell anxiety, fear-fueled faith, the image of a retributive god, critical thinking denial, religious manipulation, spiritual abuse, Bible worship, etc.
Were spiritually abused by toxic teachings and/or high-control religious leaders and need to recover.
Are in the LGBTQ community and struggle with (1) the teachings of evangelicalism or other high-control church, (2) how to forge a new path, and/or (3) how to deal with my non affirming family or friends.
Resonate with Jesus but not most of his supposed devotees and “church.” Need help how to follow or recognize Jesus outside the church and religion.
Need historical or philosophical grounding for your faith or nonfaith.
Yearn to reconstruct a spirituality that is truly your own based on thinking for yourself.
Want guidance on how to create a new source of meaning and purpose that isn’t religious or secular.
Struggle with a faith or existential crisis and need to address issues in a safe space.
